Your March 2023 Update from Kody Boye
Hi everyone! I hope you’re doing well whenever you receive this!
First off: February just blew by—to the point where I forgot about writing this newsletter!
Hi everyone! I thought I'd check in and give y'all a quick update! Since there’s really nothing new, this will be a “general” update (as in, with no news-news.)
Writing-wise: I have been working on the second Utopian Problem novel, As Society Rises. I just hit 50,000 words in it, and am roughly a little over halfway through the book, which will lead to a third and final book in the trilogy once I'm done with it. However, I'm struggling with it some, so I'm going to shift gears and write a short story for an open anthology call. I'm really excited about this story, which is currently titled Beloved (as a placeholder, likely, not sure.)
Publishing-wise: I currently do not have anything on the backburner. I will eventually have to heavily revise the third Southern Dead book, but I'm going to do that after I finish writing As Society Rises. I will be sending The Beast of Settler's Point to my editor, Jessica Meigs at Edits by Jessica, here soon, in anticipation of releasing it once it's out of Kindle Vella (alongside The Haunting of Alice Rommel.)
Life-wise: I finished my Philosophy class with an A+ (very proud of myself for getting through it,) and started Intro to Literature this past Monday.
So, yeah! Stuff is happening behind the scenes, but it's slow-going.
With that said: I wish you all well, and I hope you're doing okay!
